Set Up a Lemonade Stand

Setting up a lemonade stand is an activity your children will definitely enjoy doing during their summer holiday. Moreover, it is a perfect way for kids to start learning about business and even philanthropy if they are planning to donate their earnings to those in need.

Help your children to set up the lemonade stand by using:

  • A foldable sturdy table

  • A bright tablecloth

  • Cardboard of different colours

  • A strong string

  • Scissors

  • Glue

  • A hole punch

First of all, choose a place near your house that has tree branches, railings, or other sturdy structures from which to hang your banner. To make this banner let your kids write the letters of the word “LEMONADE” on the cardboard. Each letter should be big enough to be clearly seen. Cut the letters then use glue to stick each one on cardboard of a contrasting colour. With a hole-punch, punch two evenly spaced holes at the top of each sheet of the cardboard then slide each one onto the string so that they spell the word correctly. Finally, attach each end of the string to a structure behind the lemonade stand so that the sign is clearly visible. Now cover your table with the bright tablecloth and your lemonade stand is ready! What remains is to prepare the lemonade.

You will need:

  • A juicer

  • Lemons

  • Pitchers

  • A spoon for stirring

  • Cold water

  • Ice

  • Sugar

  • Plastic cups

Remember; to prepare one pitch of lemonade you need one cup of sugar, four cups of water and one cup of lemon juice.

Now that everything is ready, let your kids set their shade umbrellas and start their fun summer activity. This will definitely occupy them for hours!
