Hopscotch is a great game for children to play outside on a bare patch of ground.
Use chalk to draw a hopscotch pattern on the ground. Create a diagram with 8 sections and number them. Each player will use the stone during his turn.
The first player stands behind the starting line and throws the stone to square #1. He hops over it to square #2 and then continues hopping to square #8, turns around, and hops back again, picks up the stone from square#1, and out. The player continues his turn until he fails to throw the stone in the proper square, lose his balance or step on the line while hopping then the next player begins.
All hopping is done on one foot unless the hopscotch has two squares side-by-side. Then two feet can be placed down with one in each square.
