First Aid Kit



Everyone should have a first aid kit at home especially when you have children. There are lots of ready to purchase kits that you can find at any stores or you can make one of your own. You can have multiple kits:

  • At home, you can keep the main kit

  • A small kit for your handbag

  • A car kit to take wherever you travel. Be careful that heat and cold can affect some materials in the kit. You will have to remove them from it.

Each first aid kit should have the following:

  • List of your doctors names and numbers

  • Emergency number or Red cross number

  • Sterile gauze from different sizes

  • Adhesive tape

  • Elastic bandages

  • Adhesive bandages from different sizes

  • Antiseptic solution

  • Scissors

  • Safety pins

  • Plastic tweezers

  • Medicine as acetaminophen, calamine lotion, antibiotic ointment, antihistamines ointment, paracetamol, anti fungal cream.

  • Alcohol wipes

  • Cotton

  • Steri-strip for wound support

  • Thermometer

  • Non-latex gloves

  • Soap

  • Nasal drops

  • Blanket

  • Flashlight

  • In addition you can personalize your kit with medicines that your child is taking as asthma inhalator or drugs for allergic reaction to food or insects bites.

Always keep the first aid kit in a secure place, out of your child reach, away from heat and accessible to any adult.
