Apple Butter Breakfast

Prepare some apple butter and let your children enjoy it on a toast as a delicious energizing breakfast before a long day at school.

To prepare the apple butter recipe you will need:

  • 4 cups of apple cider

  • 4 pounds of peeled thinly sliced apples

  • 2 cups of white sugar

  • 1 cup of brown sugar

In a saucepan bring the apple cider and apples to a boil. Reduce heat, cover the saucepan and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Don’t forget to stir it often. Sieve the mixture through a strainer then return it to simmer in the saucepan. Add the sugar to the mixture and let it simmer uncovered for 2 hours. Stir it often until the mixture reaches a spreadable consistency. Store it in the refrigerator and serve it to your children for breakfast.
