Stay In Shape: Exercise With Your Baby

Exercise is maybe the latest thing on many new parents' minds, given as we are worried over who will take care of our infant when we exercise.

You might be surprised to learn that there are numerous exercises you can do with your baby! And you should know that, in addition to being skinnier and fitter, having more energy, and reducing the occurrences of postpartum depression, anxieties, or stress, exercise is also beneficial to your baby because it teaches him better movements and makes him have a lot of fun!

You get to choose whether you want to do your exercises indoors or outdoors! Make the most of a sunny day to begin your outdoor exercise routine! So, introduce yourself to your new training partner and get started. Here are some ideas for your training routine:

  • Your husband does not have to be your sole dance partner as of today! Put your baby in a baby sling or carrier, turn on some music, and dance with him or her! You will not only feel better by moving, but you will also be teaching your baby to enjoy rhythm, movement, and music!

  • You've always disliked push-ups? It's going to be a pleasure starting today! Place your baby on the floor and descend directly over him; as you descend, give your baby a small kiss on the nose or tummy. What could be a more pleasurable experience?!

  • Have you ever played the "airplane" game? Lie on your back and raise your baby onto your legs or feet, holding his arms. Tighten your abdominal muscles and buttocks while lifting your baby for extra toning.

  • The Swiss Ball is an another excellent exercise! Try holding your baby in your lap and bouncing up and down with him or her. Your tummy's muscles will tighten, and your baby will have a great time!

  • Last but not least, taking your baby out in the stroller and going for walks is the easiest and best exercise during sunny days! It not only provides excellent exercise, but it also improves your mood and provides you and your baby with a change of scenery.
